How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

Plane crashes, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, close friends dying, Trump being president. Death events influence me the most. I always wonder how I would react to total devastation of a home. I seem to have a checklist of am I living right when a friend dies. I don’t get panicked like I did when I was younger. These days one could be influenced daily!
