LION-JUSTICE

This is the first time I’ve drawn Lion. It is a powerful card. Isn’t it interesting that it is drawn the day after Trump disrespects Zelensky. Many voices are upset and are actually speaking about it. When it comes to talking about Trump, a barrage of hate can come my way. My new thought process is to be okay with whoever voted for him. BUT…..as the weeks have become so controversial it has become harder for me to understand the thinking behind voting for Trump. It was similar to listening to someone in high school when he talked about how Zelensky was dressed. I’ve never heard such ridiculus talk from a President of the United States! I feel crazy. Am I in an alternate universe? If I talked to someone the way he did Zelensky in high school—I would have been grounded for a year. I even watched Hillbilly Elegy again, just to get a feel about Vance. That was a dumb move. Apparently he is very smart but very dumb in some aspects. I don’t know. I don’t know. When Lion says “invites you to tap into the prevailing potency of his roar when advocating for justice. Let’s pray that we will not lose that right.

TREE OF LIFE-SELF CORRECTING

I am helping some family members with our young man who is struggling. He has had a very sad life. Thankfully he is around family members who love him and helping him. He has now entered the phase that he must get on his feet. He is 20. Right now he is seriously trying to finish 2 classes to get his high school diploma. He must have them finished this week. Giving him deadlines has been helpful for focusing. We will know by Friday if he succeeds. My nephew and his son have been GREAT these last few weeks. It is scary. Many of us have been through this journey and it is no fun. We are praying deeply for him. How perfect is Tree of LIfe for today’s reading!! SELF CORRECT In my journeys with struggling loved ones (including myself) I have seen success stories and I believe he can be one too. It’s not going to be easy, but let’s give it a loving chance.

ELEPHANT-COMPLEXITY

I love the Elephant card. When she says to “validate your wild, dynamic, creative desires while also honoring your fears” rings true for me. Most of you may think I’m fearless. I am not afraid to try new ideas even if just by myself. My fears will keep me from achieving those ideas. If I am doing a comedy show and I watch the act before me and they are great! How will I follow that set with mine. Will they laugh, leave the room? I don’t know but it is scary. When I am fearful, it’s because I haven’t followed through with what needs to be done. Did I practice my routines, did I pay those bills, did I make that important phone call even though it may be painful, did I apologize when needed, did I lie about something because I was afraid what would happen if I told the truth? Elephant keeps me on my toes!!

This is the first time I have picked this card. I love. Wolf wants us to wake up!! unblock! My new hobby, hopefully not obsession, is trying out the telescope later this week. I have it put together but this is a HUGE planet week and I want to see the parade of the planets. Can’t wait and finally the weather is warming up. Hopefully I’ll have photos next week.

It’s our Ladybug card again. I love her. It’s too cold out for them right now but they will be appearing soon in my gardens. She signifies miracles. I must tell you about my 2 miracles in my life right now. My Grandson will be graduating for college this spring. He had a full ride because of his debating skills. He is also #1 debater in the country after national tournament. He will be working on his masters at KU for the next 3 years on a full ride and teaching 2 communications classes. This young man faced a major tragedy when he was 11 and his daddy died suddenly of a heart attack. Daddy was his best friend and I was so worried he would not recover. He and persevered and has become a fabulous human. My granddaughter has been staying at a place to help her get through some anger issues, emotions, and learning to handle adversity. She did this willingly and has succeeded. She will come home full time this week and go back to high school. We love her so much and think she is so brave to tackle all of her issues. Thankfully she was is a great place with wonderful therapists and they had a great plan for her.

DESERT-ADAPT

I need to think about this card. I love the desert and have been in the deserts many times. My most powerful moment was in Wickenburg, AZ. I was there for some therapy at the Meadows. I was staying in a little apartment. I believe this one session was dealing with parent issues. I had some enlightening thoughts. That evening I took a long walk and was sitting on wall watching the sunset. All of a sudden this poem came rushing into my head. I jumped off the wall and almost ran to my room. I wrote the poem and still have to this day. What an incredible moment.

Desert can be unforgiving but his extreme conditions shatter heavy concepts that might try to limit our light. His starkness and absence of shadows scrub us of prescribed beliefs and elicit the drive to go inward for answers. Scintillating night skies offer a foil for the austerity of his endless expanse. He is a threatening terrain, calling forth the self-sufficiency and adaptability of the resident flora the self-sufficiency and adaptability of the resident flora and fauna. Vast and unpopulated. Desert is also a magnet for seekers of clarity, revelation, and purity. Desert’s extreme climate forces you to adapt. The Rose. I had a really interesting thought as I was reading. She is like a service animal. The other night I was at the warming center. One of the ladies is allowed to have her service dog with her. He is a pit who is really sweet. She began coughing and I asked her if she needed a cough drop. As I was approaching her, her dog began growling at me. She said “I’m feel so anxious I need my husband. He’s in the other room with the men” As I walked by the dog growled again. He was in full protective mode of his owner. He was not attacking, just protecting. The rose is like this too. She’s great for our hearts but if our heart needs protecting you might touch one of her thorns and bleed. Get recentered. Bring love back into the heart. I’m struggling a bit with a sad heart, so I will be careful to not get overwhelmed.

ROOT-STABILIZATION

Oh the Root card. Always makes me feel a little guilty. It’s apparent we should start are days on a good foundation. Healthy nourishment, drinking enough water, exercising, breathing and sleeping enough. Definitely not this week but tomorrow is another day. I believe I need to have this all written down so it is the first thing I see in the morning.

Root is the starting point. He is the vast, unseen network of life that draws energy from the Earth and creates a stable platform for life to grow and thrive. He offers a constant source of sustenance., connection, and communication. Root delves and twists, sharing insight with his neighboring kin and creating a strong community. As the most ancient and reliable anchor of planetary support, he guides us to grow stronger and more stable. Root asks you to establish firm foundations and develop a relationship with your own network of stabilization . He is the connecting force that carries all answers, so tak stock. How courageous are you? Sometimes courage is about attempting an exciting activity. Jumping out of plane, riding on a single track on a dirt bike, eating dinner by yourself. It is also how you handle a medical diagnosis-cancer, heart, mental. One of my courageous acts was getting divorced the 2nd time. I was always threatened that he would kill me. if I left. Thankfully I wasn’t but the fear that it could still happen lasted for a couple of years.

Volcanoes are portals to the heart of our Earth, ablaze with emotional fire. When they erupt, Lava purs forth, covering the old and outdated while forging new pathways. Lava scorches everything in her path, a searing field of anger. But when she cools, she forms dynamic new landscapes that are fertilized by nutrient-rich ash. Lava guides you to locate the fiery core within yourself. This period of change and transformation requires courage. It is important to access your internal magma and the deep desire that brought you where you are. You must hold yourself steady while old and un-useful paths and ideas are consumed around you. RAY OF LIGHT-FOCUS

Do you know how many times people tell me “you are so busy” “how do you do so much”. It always catches me off guard. I feel like I’m taking it easy right now. I try to just do 1 extra thing a day. I enjoy when I see my calendar and there is nothing on it. That used to depress me. Seriously. It would. I might be busy but I’m not obsessed? Maybe? I have many different interests and ideas. I called my friend today who wrote a wonderful book. I wanted to talk to her about coming to Topeka for a talk. Just 2 phone calls I made. But..Tuesdays area always busy. It s when I am the co-host with Joel Marshall on Lunch Therapy. It’s live so I do prepare to be ready. Maybe I sound busy because I talk interests and ideas but that doesn’t mean I’m obsessed. In reality I need to focus on several things within my home. Slowly but surely.

GAZELLE-CHANGE OF DIRECTION

So many of the cards have been about transitioning, changing, etc. lately. As I was reading this card I thought I’m not changing directions. Then I remembered that I am going to try to set up an organized folder to keep me on track better. My daughter is convinced I am ADD. Probably but I do help in my daily life activities. I have succeeded at this before and feel I can do it again!

Gazelle dances across the continental horizon, alert, light of foot, and vibrating with unopposed grace. His beauty is a spell cast upon the world. He approaches his environs with vigilance and is protected by the safety of the herd. As one, they strive with confidence and bravery , surviving via telepathic, innate communication. Gazelle’s capacity for imaginative improvisiation allows him to outsmart and outrun his predators. His name comes from the Arabic word gazal, meaning “love poem” and this light and fast animal is drawn to you when it’s time change direction.

STORM-TRANSITION

This is a strong card. I feel like Denny and I were hit with a storm when his serious health issues happened last summer. Many questions, many concerns, many tests, surgeries, recoveries and now radiation. I say “we” even though it’s Denny going through the health issues. Being a couple it is a we thing. For me it was being home more and not so much a caregiver, but just being with him was important. I have backed away from comedy and performing. At first I thought this would be very hard. Instead, the last couple of months of my shows were eye opening. Since November not one comedian has said “Hey we miss you?” “Hey where have you been.” I still comment on some comics post but for the most part I’ve just distanced myself. What has it been like being focused on home more? Great. I like the slower pace. I like being with Denny. I am still working which is also great. Bottom line. The storm came through, we have persevered. Denny is feeling the effects of the radiation. Fatigue being the main culprit. I like this card. It reminds me of how we have survived the storm.

I think this is the first time I have drawn Storm. She is the cycle of madness necessary to reclaim serenity. Before Storm’s arrival, the gathering charge expands, creating deep unrest. She weaves her rumble of thunder with flashes of lightening, commanding immediate attention. Her climactic performance echoes through the theater of the gods, opening new dimensions. Finally the skies rain down the tears that recede tomorrow’s renewal. Stom indicates transition. In the midst of the tempest, you might wonder how much damage will be done or even whether you will survive. Remember that the polarity of destruction is renewal-one does not exist without the other. Funny thing happened. I drew Cloud and I thought, I don’t want to do Cloud again. I reshuffled the cards and guess what? Cloud showed up again so I must need to read it. I love Clouds. Especially the big fluffy ones that my mean a thunderstorm or snowstorm is coming. I like the billowing of their movements. My first time on an airplane I was fascinated by being above the clouds. I took many photos. The first time I saw the movie Hurricane Hunters fascinated me. I couldn’t believe the beauty of sun and calm that they would fly into and then back into the dangerous winds. Clouds are formed by liquid droplets that build and build depending on the power that is needed. Who knew how powerful ladybugs were. I know they tend to have a power that draws people to protect them and love them. My question to you is have you ever experienced a miracle? RIVER-FORGIVENESS

What a perfect card for today. A few days ago I wrote a sympathy card to friend I haven’t talked to for years. It was a very sad time in my life when the friendship ended. I sent a card with no expectations of the friendship happening again. It’s okay. I have healed from this friendship ending but it took me a long time. Interesting that the hardest person to forgive is ourselves. So true!

This is an interesting card. I feel I am transmutating, I love that word, into a more focused and uncommitted person. I wake up everyday now and think about my day. It doesn’t overwhelm me anymore. I am able to do everything that day without getting a know in my stomach. When I do feel a know, I think about why. I can change up if I can. To feel my pain and accept it rather than feeling it harmed me. Being aware of what is going on around me rather than being overwhelmed and ignoring is doing well right now.

Scorpion is all about passion. How many of you have a passion going on? I have had so many passions over my lifetime. At times I would like to feel some of those passions. That first meeting someone and it just overcomes you. That first kiss with that person. The passion or pain of birth. The passion of doing an activity for the first time and being scared to death. I still have new passions. Comedy and performing being the last really strong passion. But… not now. What happens to our passion? How can it be so strong and so consuming and then be gone? For comedy and me it was disappointment from the comedy community. It was being told I’ll book you and then never hear from again. Being on a reality show and being told you were so great, the best, the funniest and when in reality it all was just empty. Maybe its the word empty. Is it wrong to have expectations even if they aren’t met. No, but as time goes on I believe that is when we get cautious again. We don’t trust want someone is satying to us. Therefore we close ourselves off. Take ourselves out of the game. THEN find a new passion and carry on. I can’t just stop and be in the past full of sadness and regrets and disappointments. I have, I won’t lie, but I really try not to anymore. I believe my age has kept me from being obsessed in the past. And medication of course. All of that being said my passion at this time is really organizing the house to be the place I want to be to paint, write, laugh, be happy. To be uncluttered. It’s a process but I do have a time frame. The house will be ready by February 1, 2025. Yay. I’m excited to have the space for all my endeavors, even if its just relaxing and watching tv with Denny and petting puppies and kitties.

Apparently I needed to read Cloud again since this is twice this week. I am getting reminded to continue with my changes I’m striving for. To have a routine which seems impossible for me at this time. This morning my plan was to put everything and organize my studio and clean my little bathroom. No problem. But Denny wants to mop the studio once more. No problem I will go clean the bathroom which is off the master bedroom. Denny says he is going to take a nap so that ends that plan. I decide to come to basement and write which is a great alternative. I will never be an early riser, I will never wake up at the same time, I will never go to bed at the same time. That being said, how would I think I could seriously have any kind of routine. Thinking about it my desire of change and routines I might want to accomplish during the day will just have to be “whenever” and be okay with that. WAVE-UNITY

This morning I was thinking how everyday never goes quite as planned. Today is Sunday and my plan was to make 2 loaves of cinnamon bread and play mahjong. I have it timed perfectly in my mind. Lets soften the butter and then put in the milk and then warm it to 115 degrees. I warmed it too much so spent 10 minutes cooling it to my temperature. So my 10 minute project took 20. Then get it added to the egg and sugar and add the flour. Knead dough in machine for 10 minutes. As I try to take it out of the bowl it is way to sticky. So I unstick from my hands and put it back in bowl, add more flour and knead for 5 more minutes. Once again my 10 min project has turned into 20. Finally have it in bowl to rise and now catching up on my cards. Have informed my mahjong group I will be late. Just my first few hours has been a wave. I will begin to think of annoyances and timed projects as waves instead of being irritated!

I love the crystal and how cool that I actually was at the doctor this morning. My issues are my IBS and GERD. It is a self healing disease. Diet, medication and don’t change medication routine yet.

The Gazelle card is perfect as we begin a New Year. I love a new year and new dreams and new ideas. As I have backed away from performing and have drawn closer to my art and writing and home, I am very excited for 2025. I’ve not been feeling well for several days which is so draining. I go back to work today and I hope what ever is going with my body will disappear. I have been having many headaches and sharp pains. It’s migraines. My work is data entry and migraine issues don’t go well together. As a gazelle I will be confident to know this too shall pass. I like the idea of writing a love poem to my vision for 2025.

This is the first time I drew Ray of LIght. It’s an uplifting card. Ask Ray of LIght to focus on visions of the future. I like that it mentions not focusing on fears of the future. I tend to do that at times. Especially when someone I know passes away. For the last 2 weeks I have felt positive. I like my life of no obligations. I’m baking, writing, working and sewing. I believe that my orbit is devoted to Denny and our home at this time. All of my obligations of must do’s have been finished. I’m now operating on a day to day we’ll see what we will do. I can’t believe how free I feel and how nice it is.

MOTH-CLAIRVOYANCE

Moth is an interesting card and a little difficult for to understand. I read a couple of times to get what it means. I do believe that my writings this month, not all of them published yet, have opened the past but also confirms that I have grown with age to understand, empathize, and listen without the need to over-react.

LADYBUG-MIRACLE

Ladybug is my favorite card. The power this little bug has was unknown to me. In AA there is a saying that says “Don’t quit before the Miracle”. That is such a true statement. At times I did want to quit it all and EVERY time I would get a call, a card, a comment, I would read something and I didn’t quit. Of course, we have to have an open mind to feel, hear and see these miracles.

When European farmers prayed to Mother Mary for a miracle to protect their vulnerable crops, Ladybug arrived to devour the pests. The farmers, surprised that divine intervention could come in such an unsuspecting form, called her “Beetle of Our Lady”, and we know her as Ladybug. Ladybug signifies a miracle. But remember, when you expect help to appear in a specific for, her gift can sometimes be overlooked, so keep an open mind. Divine assistance is improvisational, playful, and surprising. It is a lucid discovery, like tiny Ladybugs saving a whole season of crops. The same goes for the miracles that await you. Prepare for the possibility that they will be just as unexpected as they are mighty.

ROSE-UNDEFENDED HEART

I really like the Rose card. It’s all about being open even though you feel like you want to close up. I did close up a bit after the election. I protect my heart by not reading the news, watching the news and stay off of social media. It does help even though I do see a few headlines. I’ll stay busy and try not to think about our government. Or who is being picked for offices. It is frightening to me. I find it interesting that roses are still blooming!!! I’m not sure why.

ELEPHANT-COMPLEXITY

Elephant is a steadfast monarch, matriarch, and servant. Royal by nature, her presence felt as the trumpets announce her determined march. She is loyal and devoted to elders and children alike and reminds us that the way we choose to exercise our power influences how those around us will wield theirs. A true leader, she leaves a deep footprint for others to follow so they don’t lose their way. Majestic Elephant is a reminder that more than one thing can be true. She asks you to validate your wild, dynamic, creative desires while also honoring your fears. She wants you to set aside linear thinking and welcome support from your ancestors. She courts you to honor two seemingly opposing truths with the same degree of respect. Free yourself from seeing the world through a binary lens and allow the fullness of your complexity to pour forth. I have always been interested in meditation. I have tried it a million ways. Reading a bible daily. Women’s daily meditation. Alcoholics meditation. I have at least 20 notebooks/journals/diaries everywhere. My grandmother wrote in a diary everyday of her 92 years. I have diaries from jr. high years. I have diaries that I wrote for 1 week or 1 month but I never finished a year. I started with these cards in August. My friends Kamala Lopez and Joel Marshall know Tasyn. I purchased the cards for a fundraiser. I’m sure we each read what we want into passages. Today’s card is important because it reaffirms my writings this month.

I had not read my cards all week. No specific reason. I picked Thunderbolt today. Wow. So much about this card resonates with this past week. I do want to say that my feeling on the election is my feeling. I’m not against anyone who voted differently. Maybe I was for a moment but not now. I was so devastated because he scares. My world has become peaceful, friendly, new friendships, comedy, reality show, writings, performing, new jobs, loss of close friends and mentors, being a caretaker for my Dennypoo, adopting a truly damaged dog from a puppy mill and watching him succeed, working with Street Dog Coalition, breaking a vertabra, watching my grandson Cade become #1 Debater in the country, designing a Christmas Tree for Festival of Trees in honor of my brother John. My need to be around people has lessened. I enjoy being at home with my studios. ( Who has 2 studios? Me.) That feels really nice. ‘I enjoy my part-time job. I kept wondering why I like it so much. When I am typing and entering info for 5 hours, I am not obsessing or listening to my brain going in circles. Believe me, that is PEACE. Thunderbolt will transform me to new perceptions and lessen my fears.

SNAKE

Snake is the fertile union between ebb and flow. She willingly lives life’sexperiences, then releases them back to the earth when they no longer serve her existence shedding her skin regulary to release and be born anew. When resting, Snake forms a coiled spiral, soaking in the warmth from the earth, bringing herself into balance and healing.

Sometimes it might feel like you are just going in circles, revisiting old patterns or wounds you thought were healed, but Snake indicates that this can be positive. I can get those barometer headaches. Thankfully not today. I love the word galaxies in this reading. My Christmas tree entry is all about the sky, some planets, a comet. Heading to the garage to add more ornaments. It’s a good day.

ROOT-STABILIZATION

I love this element so much. I could read it every day. Today I’m a little unrooted. I started my morning out okay. But…I didn’t eat my yogurt, apple, cheese. FLYING FISH

LEAP OF FAITH
